Korhogo Project

The Korhogo Project comprises a 380-square kilometer exploration permit in the northern region of Côte d’Ivoire. The Korhogo Ouest permit is located along the Banfora greenstone belt, which hosts the multi-million ounce Tongon and Banfora gold deposits.

Exploration work at Korhogo in 2017 included 2,000 meters of trenching, 18,874 meters of RC drilling and 1,047 meters of core drilling. Three different mineralized zones were uncovered along the eastern flank of the greenstone belt over a strike length of more than 10 kilometers. Significant alteration and deformation over wide intervals returned values of up to 8.84 g/t Au across 14 meters.

The 2017 exploration program at Korhogo revealed significant gold mineralization from different structures and geological environments throughout the property. We believe that there is a favorable likelihood of identifying a significant gold zone and plan to pursue our efforts in 2018.

2018 Program

A 2018 budget of $3 million has been assigned to build on the encouraging results. To achieve this, an exploration program consisting of 900 meters of core, 12,000 meters of RC, and 50,000 meters of auger drilling has been scheduled. The RC program will be devoted to testing anomalies in the Chigata and Fotamana Zones in addition to the Chigata-Fotamana trend close to the sediment-granitoid contact.
