Provides 2017 Outlook SEMAFO Inc. (TSX:SMF)(OMX:SMF) reports full-year 2016 production results of 240,200 ounces at a total cash cost of $548 and all-in sustaining cost of $720 per ounce at its Mana Mine . As a result, the Corporation has met its production guidance for the ninth consecutive year. December 22, 2016 - SEMAFO Awarded Mining Permit for Natougou Project
Construction Starting On Schedule SEMAFO Inc. (TSX:SMF)(OMX:SMF) is pleased to announce the Council of Ministers of the Government of Burkina Faso has approved its mining permit application for the Natougou Gold Project . Receipt of the mining permit enables development of the Natougou Project to proceed on schedule. Construction activities are expected to begin in the coming weeks with the mobilisation of the bulk earthworks team on site. The first gold pour is expected in the second half of 2018. A key component of the Corporation's growth platform, the Natougou Project is located in southeastern Burkina Faso , some 320 kilometers from the capital of Ouagadougou . In February 2016 , the Corporation announced a positive feasibility study 1 for Natougou, which confirmed the economic viability of an open-pit, carbon-in-pulp project giving an after-tax IRR of 48% at a gold price of US$1,100 per ounce. December 5, 2016 - SEMAFO: Natougou Proximal Exploration Enhances Property Potential
Values of up to 6.94 g/t Au over 6 Meters Obtained in the West Flank Zone SEMAFO (TSX:SMF)(OMX:SMF) today announced results from an ongoing proximal drilling program at Natougou designed to explore the lateral extensions of the flat-lying Boungou Shear Zone (BSZ) proximal to the current in-pit reserves. Based on the results to date, the Corporation now plans: To bring the West Flank Zone into the inferred resources category by year-end 2016; To convert the inferred resources into the indicated category by end of first half of 2017; and To evaluate the potential for an underground operation Since July 1, 2016, a total of 6,716 (39 holes) meters of drilling have been completed along the West Flank Zone located immediately to the southwest of the current in-pit reserves of the Natougou deposit (Figure 1).
