Reporting to Chief of service, Plant Mechanical Maintenance

Fixed-term contract for an initial one year period

Thanks to your technical training in mechanical engineering and your solid experience in industrial maintenance, partly acquired in a mineral processing plant, you have built a valuable reservoir of expertise on mining equipment. As we are starting the exploration of the Noungou mine, you have an opportunity to share and impart this knowledge to our employees. You will be able to evaluate their technical competencies, develop them or perfect them in line with our objectives and practices in health and safety, continuous improvement and succession planning.

Main challenges and responsibilities

  • Participate in the mechanical maintenance activities of your team in collaboration with Operations teams, while ensuring compliance with environmental, health and safety (EHS) rules and identifying training opportunities.
  • Act as a "coach" for the members of the plant equipment maintenance team.
  • Evaluate the technical skills of employees, and design and deliver tailored learning solutions to ensure operational excellence.
  • Identify and support talented employees in their professional growth.
  • Support SEMAFO's continuous improvement efforts through learning solutions.
  • Act as a technical reference to support projects that improve and optimize mechanical maintenance, and performance at work.

Your profile and skills

  • Technical training in mechanical engineering with a focus on maintenance or seasoned maintenance mechanic with recognized and measurable experience performing maintenance on fixed equipment in a plant setting.
  • Minimum of 5 years of recognized industrial or mining experience, some of which involving training or coaching roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of mining and industrial fixed equipment: crushers, hydraulics, alignment, ball mills, conveyers, pumps and compressors.
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, listening and oral communication skills in English and French. Note that the working language is French.

  • Familiar with preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Familiar with maintenance management software.
  • Knowledge and sustained interest in environmental, health and safety (EHS) matters.
